Colombia’s tourist appeal has exploded in the past few years, with the rise of popular destinations such as Cartagena and Medellin. My first introduction to South America was on a trip to Bogota, where I experienced its people’s warmth, a booming cafe culture and an exciting pace of life.
Colombia’s capital is oozing with historic charm, with colonial-era architecture making up many of the city’s landmarks. It’s also a melting pot of diverse cultures, with people hailing from all over the country. While frequently surpassed in popularity by cities like Medellin and Cartagena, Bogota is still an important tourist destination in its own right.
